Beschreibung

Muzel Salmler, auch Red Cherry Tetra genannt, sind erst seit wenigen Jahren im Hobby verbreitet. In Form und verhalten ähneln sie sehr dem schon lange Bekannten Zitronensalmler, allerdings erinnern sie farblich eher an einen Feuersalmler. Die Flossen der Tiere sind intensiv rot gefärbt, der Körper der Männchen kann ebenfalls ein auffälliges Rot annehmen, während die Körper der Weibchen meist in einem etwas weniger intensiven Rot-Orange gefärbt sind. Muzel Salmler werden ca 5 cm groß.

Herkunft und Lebensraum

Die Red Charity Tetras stammen aus den langsam fließenden Gewässern Südamerikas, vor allem aus Brasilien. Im Hobby sind derzeit schon fast ausschließlich Nachzuchten zu erlangen, was eine sehr positive Entwicklung ist, auch unsere Tiere stammen von lokalen Züchtern.

Vermehrung

Die Zucht der Muzel Salmler ist für geübte Salmlerzüchter nicht schwerer als viele andere Hyphessobrycon Arten, eine Vermehrung im Gesellschaftsbecken ist aber dennoch eher die Ausnahme. Ein gezielter Zuchtansatz bei niedrigem PH und weichem Wasser ist meißt der Weg zum Erfolg.

Fütterung

Red Charity Tetras sind Allesfresser und nehmen eine Vielzahl von Futtersorten an, darunter Flockenfutter, Granulat, Lebend- und Frostfutter. Eine abwechslungsreiche Ernährung trägt zur Gesundheit und Farbintensität dieser Fische bei.

Haltung

Red Charity Tetras sind gesellige Schwimmer und sollten in Gruppen von mindestens 6 bis 8 Tieren gehalten werden. Sie halten sich typisch für Hyphessobrycon Arten gerne im unteren Teil des Aquariums nahe der Strukturen und Bepflanzung auf, in die sie bei Stress gerne flüchten. Demenstprechend sollten eine gute Bepflanzung und Gestaltung des Aquariums die passenden Rückzugsorte bieten.

In Aquarien ab 80 cm Kantenlänge ist der Muzel Salmler gut zu halten und auch leicht mit anderen Arten zu vergesellschaften.

Empfohlene Pflegeprodukte

Für kleine und mittlere Fische empfehlen wir ein passendes Futter in der richtigen Größe. Besonders geeignet sind langsam sinkende Granulate wie das Arka Bio Gran , StreamBiz Granulate oder die Granulate von Dr.Bassleer. Ergänzend dazu sollte regelmäßig Lebendfutter oder ganze Futtertiere verfüttert werden. Da die Fische eine empfindliche Schleimhaut haben empfehlen wir den Einsatz von Huminstoffen, wie das Liquid Humin+ oder auch Naturprodukten wie Seemandelbaumblätter oder Erlenzapfen.
Ebenfalls zur Pflege der Schleimhäute, sowie zur Unterstützung der Darmflora empfehlen wir den Einsatz von MikrobeLift TheraP
