Beschreibung

Die Regenbogenelritze, auch bekannt als Rainbow Shiner oder Notropis chrosomus, ist ein farbenfroher Fisch aus Nordamerika. Männchen zeichnen sich durch ihre neonblauen Schuppen und Flossen aus, während Weibchen orangefarben mit einem bräunlichen Seitenband sind. Sie erreichen eine Größe von etwa 6 bis 10 cm und sind gesellige Schwimmer in mittleren Regionen des Aquariums.

Herkunft und Lebensraum

Die Regenbogenelritzen stammen aus den langsam fließenden Gewässern von Alabama und Georgia in Nordamerika. Sie können sowohl im Aquarium als auch im Gartenteich gehalten werden, wobei ähnliche Bedingungen wie für das Aquarium gelten. Im Teich ist darauf zu achten, das dieser im Winter nicht durchfriert.

Vermehrung

Die Vermehrung der Regenbogenelritzen erfordert niedrigere Temperaturen unter 10°C, um die Eiablage zu stimulieren. Sie sind relativ anspruchsvoll in dieser Hinsicht, da sie eine Winterperiode zur Fortpflanzung benötigen, was im Aquarium schwieriger nachzuahmen ist.

Fütterung

Regenbogenelritzen sind Allesfresser und akzeptieren eine Vielzahl von Futtersorten, einschließlich Flockenfutter, Granulat, Tabletten sowie Lebend- und Frostfutter. Eine abwechslungsreiche Ernährung trägt zu ihrer Gesundheit und Farbenpracht bei.

Haltung

Regenbogenelritzen sind gesellige Schwimmer, die in Gruppen von mindestens 6 bis 8 Tieren gehalten werden sollten. Ein Aquarium ab 1 Meter Kantenlänge bietet ausreichend Platz für diese lebhaften Fische. Sie bevorzugen weiches Wasser mit einem leicht sauren pH-Wert und einer Gesamthärte von 4-8° dH.

Empfohlene Pflegeprodukte

Für kleine und mittlere Fische empfehlen wir ein passendes Futter in der richtigen Größe. Besonders geeignet sind langsam sinkende Granulate wie das Arka Bio Gran , StreamBiz Granulate oder die Granulate von Dr.Bassleer. Ergänzend dazu sollte regelmäßig Lebendfutter oder ganze Futtertiere verfüttert werden. Da die Fische eine empfindliche Schleimhaut haben empfehlen wir den Einsatz von Huminstoffen, wie das Liquid Humin+ oder auch Naturprodukten wie Seemandelbaumblätter oder Erlenzapfen.
Ebenfalls zur Pflege der Schleimhäute, sowie zur Unterstützung der Darmflora empfehlen wir den Einsatz von MikrobeLift TheraP
